Okaloosa County Transit
Okaloosa County Transit provides local residents and visitors with three different types of public transportation services: Regularly scheduled buses (The WAVE), door-to-door services (Okaloosa Coordinated Transportation) and a shuttle service on Okaloosa Island.
The WAVE: The WAVE bus service is funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation. Wheelchair accessible buses operate in Crestview and Fort Walton Beach, and make regular stops at shopping, medical, and educational facilities and government agencies.
Okaloosa Coordinated Transportation (OCT): Many county residents who face mobility challenges depend on Okaloosa Coordinated Transportation to get around. OCT provides convenient, door-to-door, public transportation for essential trips to the doctor, dentist or other health care services. OCT may also be used to travel to work, grocery shopping, or school. While OCT charges the general public full fare, some individuals qualify for reduced or no cost transportation.
The Island Shuttle: This Island Shuttle is a free, wheelchair accessible service that operates seasonally on Okaloosa Island. The Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council funds the shuttle.
