Since 1995 the Florida State Archives has housed the archives of the Florida
Folklife program, including all their fieldwork records, photographs, and
recordings - including of the Florida Folk Festival (1954-2001) and many of the
fiddlers contests. Recently they have have re-described this collection,
creating an online database to allow people to research the collection by folk
artists, genre [including "old time music," "fiddle music,"
"bluegrass music," and "stringband music"], title of work,
event, or location. We also have placed online thousands of images and some
music clips. The main web page for the project is: http://www.floridamemory.com/Collections/folklife/.
There is also a free downloadable CD with samples from the collection: http://www.floridamemory.com/Collections/folklife/folklife_cd.cf
