Fred Larry Jameson, 62, of Campobello, S.C., died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at his residence after an illness.

Larry was born in Pickens Co., S.C. a son of Mrs. Ann Wellborn Jameson Dunn and the late Mr. Fred Bomar Jameson. He was a graduate of USC, where he earned a BA in Business and earned a Masters Degree from Converse College in Education. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had been employed as a public school teacher in J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, S.C. He was also formerly a home builder.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Steve Jameson. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Cox Jameson of the home; mother, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; children, Brent Jameson of Campobello, S.C. and Michael Jameson of China Grove, N.C.; mother-in-law, Marilyn Coleman Cox Barnes of  Pamplico, S.C. Memorials may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, New York 11714. Funeral services were held on April 16, 2008, in Beulah Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Larry was a faithful and generous Board member of Jameson Family Cemetery, Inc., providing invaluable assistance, information on family history, and enthusiastic support to the Jameson Family Cemetery association since 2002. He often talked to Dr. Hal Jameson about Jameson family history. He was a true friend to the association and is sorely missed.
