Miami (of Florida) beats Florida State to win its 3rd National Championship, the first for coach Jim Morris, a former FSU assistant.
Note that this year marked two major changes in the playoffs. First, the number of teams eligible for post-season play was expanded to 64, grouped into 16 regionals whose winners play a best-2-of-3 series to get the 8 teams you see here. Second, the eight super regionals groupings were seeded when the pairings were announced, and that seeding carries through into the CWS regardless of who won the super regional.
