Rice wins the CWS, its first national championship in any sport.
The final game of the best-of-3 series had the largest margin of
victory of any final (championship) game in CWS history.
This year brings another change in format for the College World Series.
Now the winners of each double-elimination series face each other in
a best 2-of-3 playoff like in the Super Regionals.
(The parallel 4-team double-elimination with single championship game
started in 1988 IIRC.)
I have changed the way I layout the seedings and standings to reflect the fact that we now have, in effect, a structure identical to a pair of regionals feeding into a super regional.

Record and poll rankings are from after the regionals, before CWS.
The ranking
produced by Boyd Nation before regional play is
listed under ISR, while that after the regionals is under ISR'.
The RPI, given this year for reference,
is also from before regional play began.
