We chose out-of-hospital births for all of our children, and had the last two at home with a wonderful midwife, Alice Sanpere, pictured here with our son, Daven. There are many misconceptions about homebirthing that scare people into hospital births when perhaps they would like to give birth in a more comfortable setting, like their home or a birthing centre.
