Jim, made and installed nesting platforms made of 1/4 inch hardware cloth. The birds took to them right away. Besides sticks, we also provide them with bird-safe leather strips (used for making bird toys), and Jim used some of the strips to wrap sticks around the edges to protect the birds from sharp edges.
