RE-CAP of recent Events

17 Aug 02   LIGHTHOUSE AND LIGHTSHIP

    This special event was participated in at the St. Marks Lighthouse by Theo,K4LVM; Bob,KE4RFH; Linda, KG4RTX; John,N4HV, Maria,KC4LAF; Steve,AD4E; Judy, KD4SFW; Ed, KC4MHM and several members of the Thomasville club that I neglected to get the names of. We got off to a flying start with the first contact being a VK2 in Australia. The bands did not cooperate with us until about noon when they opened up along with the N.A. QSO  contest. We had a wonderful site but could not compete with the beams and KW amps. We made about 40 contacts of which 11 were other Lighthouses.

    The weather was great, the fellowship was even better, and the food was outstanding. Judy and Linda did their usual best and no one had anything but contented looks on their faces. When future events are held be sure to bring something to put on the grill and enjoy the good times. Photos are available here.
