Nurturing Your Spiritual and Intellectual Growth

The Adult Enrichment Program of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee views learning as a lifelong process, and our mission is to provide courses to assist members and friends to develop their own intellectual and spiritual growth. We will draw inspiration from a wide variety of religious and secular sources and from our own experiences. In this rapidly changing world, we note that our traditional, analytical way of thinking needs to be supplemented with a UU spirituality which speaks to the quest for both knowledge and meaning of the world and of our daily lives.

We are a community committed to a principled and responsible search for truth and meaning, guided by reason. We seek and selectively use wisdom from Judeo-Christian sources as well as from philosophies and religions of the East; from Native American and Old World earth-centered religions, as well as the findings of modern science.

We are a community committed to the acceptance of one another and encouragement of spiritual growth, recognition of the inherent worth of every person, and the goal of the world community. Adult Enrichment serves as a vehicle for interpersonal bonding and sharing, recreation, and enjoyment, in recognition of the interdependent web of all existence.

We are a community committed to justice in human relations, social change, and peace and liberty for all. Adult Enrichment serves as a source of information and learning about global and local issues of topical ethical concern.
