TANZBÄR ROTTWEILERS
The
Tanzbar Story unfolds...

We
purchased our first Rottweiler bitch, Stenften's Eva Brawn v Adolfe,
CGC, TDI, TT from Tom and Chris Stentfenagel in 1998 as a wedding
present to ourselves. "Pooh", as she's affectionately
called, is still going strong at nearly 10 years of age.
Pooh
is the "fun police" here, and keeps the boys of Tanzbar in
line very nicely! Chris is my first mentor in the hobby, and I
consider her a friend for life. She has helped me considerably
through the years and has always been there for me when I needed her.
Thanks,
Chris! |
Dieter
was purchased as a show potential puppy, and far exceeded our
initial expectations in not only the show ring, but his potential for
work and as a companion dog. Dieter achieved his AKC Championship
(Thanks, Jay Beyda!) and two BOBs while showing in the AKC breed
ring, as well as taking 4th place in the Open Class at the ARC
Nationals at Walt Disney World in 2002.
Dieter's
accolades in the Sieger ring include Regional and National Youth
Sieger in USRC, Regional Youth Sieger in ARV, and he was ARV pointed
as well. He received his HIC at 15mos of age in Perry, GA, and also
passed his CGC, TDI, and TT with flying colors. Dieter and I trained
each other to the level of BH, and for me, he's probably the
one of the best examples of the male Rottweiler that I've ever come
across, temperament-wise. He brims with confidence and a zest for
life, he loves his family, and we love him back! Dieter was injured
early on in his SchH training, and we decided that it was much more
important to enjoy a healthy dog, than risk further injury on field.
He does get an occasional day out to entertain our club members, and
he enjoys "sucking nose" with unsuspecting bystanders...
Dieter will be 8 this year, and is still enjoying life to its
fullest! We wouldn't expect anything less of this boy! |

Attila
is our entire "A" litter. He's formally known as Tanzbar's
Attila [der] Hund, and affectionately known as our "Village
Idiot" among his family, friends and admirers! Rearing a
singleton pup is a challenge in and of itself, and this was quite an
education for me as a new breeder. Attila gets his "fun
dummy" attitude from his sire, Dieter, and his insane focus from
his dam, Pooh. He is most often found in the kitchen, attempting to
"will" the cookie jar off the counter, or his ball out of
the toy box. I have to assume that practice makes perfect
because Attila would practice his kinetic skills all day and all
night if we let him! Attila was diagnosed at 6mos of age with
moderate CHD, but he rarely lets on that he is anything but the
picture of health. He's a very stoic dog, a good boy, a silly dog
through and through, and our first bundle of Tanzbar joy!
Pooh,
Dieter and Attila have taught us immeasurable life lessons in the
short time they've graced us with their company. I'm convinced I've
become a better human being as I've come to understand each of these
dogs as individuals. I am forever indebted, and undoubtedly one of
the luckiest humans alive because of these guys.
