Knights
The knightly culture of chivalry and courtly love has not become the all-consuming passion it will be during the Gothic period. Still, the concepts of chivalry and courtly love do exist — they are just less ubiquitous and important. Knights are not clad in the all-covering Gothic plate armor, and do not wield the super-shock heavy lance. Instead, they wear mail, and use a lighter spear (often gripping it overhand). The jousts of the high Middle Ages have not yet begun — though there are other sorts of knightly tournaments. The military orders — orders of highly religious knights like the Templars — do not yet exist, though there are certainly individual knights who are highly religious.
