Vikings
1007 is part of the Viking era, but it is clear that the Viking era is near its end. The rise of great castles on mainland Europe has given the Vikings hard targets to loot and pillage. The spread of Christianity into Scandinavia has pacified the Vikings as well (even if only a bit). Still, Viking fleets sail every summer (the northern seas are too stormy at other times), even if they are not the apocalyptic threat they were 150 years ago. The British Isles, in particular, are still terrified by the Vikings.
