Status 7/18/04 : Well the framing is almost at the end... and we are making great strides in building the house... I hope in the next week will be finished on the framing and move on to the brick.. plumbing... electrical ... havc.... and roofing the house.... We have all the people lined up ... lets hope for some good weather for a change .... on another front ... we have a new buyer for the town house and we are looking to close the deal on august 20th... that will be a good day...now for some pictures....
Well to start I climbed up in the trusses to get you all a picture of the view from the 2nd floor... it makes this location for the house a great decision ... we could not be happier with our selection of this lot to live on....
Slowly but the dormers are going up ... it took a few days because of the rain.. and some corrections that had to be made...

I just can't get over how beautiful this area is.... takes my breath away all the time...
They finally are making good progress on the dormers... they have the trusses set as you see and will be sheathing them shortly...
Yes... the dormers are done.... and I think they add allot of character to the house....
As you can see from this picture .... how we love the views from the second floor...
The framers are still moving forward ... even thou I wish it was at a faster pace... They have both gable ends framed in ... and the dormers completed...

I know it does not look like much is happening .. but they do have the house and roof wraped in tyvek materials...
Well ... well ... we have windows...

I know it looks like a shambles... but we are framing as fast as we can....
This is the second floor of the house... it will be about 2100 sf... believe it or not I could fit the whole house I grew up in within this second floor alone... I not sure what to do with all this space... but I think I will figure it out sooner or later...
As the days go by .. the framing creeps along ... well it will be over soon I hope...
we have installed the front door and the stairs... this is a view of the foyer area...
This is an interior view of a window in the bathroom that will be over the tub...
This is one of my favorite features... the 3 french doors... when open .. the breeze that goes thru the house is incredible... I think this is one of the best ideas i had so far with this house...
as you see we have many similar windows of different size ... all these windows have Low E gas.. and are vinyl clad... i hope these will save energy ... I need to or this place is going to eat me alive on cost to run it...
I know you still can't see it yet but this is the way back to the master bedroom... as you see allot of the interior braces have come down now that the trusses and roof is on and sheathed...
It is not finished yet but here is the stair well next to one of the dormers.... I really love how this house is shaping up...
And we have Stairs... no more climbing up ladders to get to the second floor...
Believe it or not this is the hood to the fish tank... i used toilet plumbing fixtures and inverted them to create a 4" vent for the hood... it came out very nice ... in addition we durra rock the hood area to protect the wood from moisture and heat...
I took the pipe out the top of the tank ...
Ran the pipe thru the trusses....
Up the side of the attic truss wall....
and finally thru the roof...
one thing I like ... is once the tank is going... you will be able to see it from outside .... that should just be breath taking...
As you know .. with all this construction... someone has to clean it up.... guess who gets to do that.... yep.. me... well hope you like the pictures...I have to get back to pushing a broom and cleaning up the mess...
